Eastern York looking for new football coach

It appears Jeff Shutter's second term as Eastern York football coach has come to an end. The school sent out a release Thursday, stating it is seeking applicants for its head football coach. The Golden Knights finished 3-7 in 2010, the program's seventh losing season in its last eight tries. Attempts to reach Shutter and Eastern York athletic director Karl Oswald on Thursday evening were unsuccessful. Shutter spent a total of 13 seasons at Eastern, spread out over two different stints. He resigned from his post following the 2002 season to take a coaching job at Franklin and Marshall College, then returned to the program prior to its 2006 campaign. Eastern managed a total of 14 wins the ensuing five seasons. Overall, Shutter finished with a 52-78 record at the school. The Golden Knights have not had a wining season since 2002. The coaching vacancy is the fifth this offseason in the YAIAA. The previous four -- Spring Grove, York Catholic, York County Tech and York Suburban -- have already been filled.
