Wilson Area High School earns way into Colonial League boys basketball tournament

Wilson Area knocked off Northern Lehigh 36-33 to earn their way into the Colonial League boys basketball tournament behind Kowan Scott's 12 points and 10 rebounds.


Former Cardinal Doughtery player Gibbs finds West to be best fit

Last summer, Christen Gibbs was trying to figure out what school to attend and could not decide between Bishop McDevitt or West Catholic.  At the end of the day, West Catholic won out and that's where Gibb's chose.  On Saturday the two teams faced each other and West Catholic came out on top, 63-54.   Gibbs finished the night with 13 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals.


Neumann-Goretti wins record 50th straight CL game

Neumann-Goretti defeated St. Joseph's Prep 77-74 to win their 50th straight Catholic League game.   That is a Catholic League record, topping Roman Catholic's previous record of 49 from 1989-1992.


1,000 points, 3 brain surgeries

Shea Wassel is a senior basketball player for Lansdale Catholic.   Recently, she scored her 1,000 point on the hardwood.  That however, was not the biggest accomplishment of her life.  Shea has had 3 brain surgeries since the age of two.


Connellsville claims section title outright

Connellsville boys basketball team had clinched a spot in the playoffs but Friday night they earned the Section 1-AAAA title.   Connellsville, led by Paul Martin's 16 points and six rebounds, defeated Kiski Area 63-55 to earn the title.


Rochester rolls over Lincoln Park

Rochester topped Lincoln Park for the second time this season to improve to 18-3.  The Rams topped the Leopards 77-63 and were led by E.J. Blackwell's 24 points.
