Schrann left off McDonald's game roster; Friday night roundup

Cory Mull posted this earlier on the Handful of Sports blog, so I'll pass it along here as well... York Catholic's Kady Schrann will not take part in the McDonald's All-America game. The 24-member girls' team was announced on Thursday, and Schrann's name did not make the list. The Fighting Irish senior and Vanderbilt commit had recently been named a semifinalist for the prestigious event, which this year will take place on March 30 in Chicago's United Center. Schrann is averaging 19.8 points per game for York Catholic (23-0), which will be the No. 1 seed in the District 3 Class AA tournament. You can see the full list of those who will play in the game here. Schrann suffered a bit of an off-night Friday, but it didn't seem to phase the Irish during a 60-33 win over Kennard-Dale in a YAIAA girls' tournament quarterfinal. In other girls' action Friday... - Delone Catholic took advantage of some early turnovers by Dallastown to earn a 59-50 victory. - Red Lion rolled past Biglerville to secure a semifinal matchup with the Squirettes. The two teams will play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dallastown. - The nightcap at Dallastown that night will feature York Catholic and Eastern York. The Golden Knights demolished Spring Grove, 41-14, Friday at Red Lion.
