Red Lion Christian's Logan Steckel has long-since surpassed the 2,000-point mark. Now the senior sharpshooter is taking aim at the school -- and county -- scoring records. Steckel needs 64 more points to pass the school record of 2,573 held by Frank Hawkins. That number is also the county's all-time mark. Steckel could reach the mark when Red Lion Christian hosts a tournament this weekend. The Swordsmen will play Adams County Christian at 5 p.m. on Friday, and could then play in the event's championship game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Considering Steckel's scoring prowess -- he scored 51 in a game last week -- there's a good chance he could hit the milestone this weekend. The guard has done this without much fanfare, in large part because Red Lion Christian plays in the much smaller KCEA (Keystone Christian Education Association) league. Still, scoring that many points is quite a feat, no matter what league you play in. It seems fairly remarkable that both the county and YAIAA boys' scoring records could fall in the same year. Eastern York's Andrew Nicholas has a chance to break the league scoring record of 2,388 points set by York Catholic's Jacob Iati in 2008. Unofficially (that is, according to our records) Nicholas needs 154 points to break Iati's record.
