Fun with District 3 power rankings

District 3 released its updated boys' and girls' basketball power rankings last night. Here are a few YAIAA-related notes (for the complete rankings, head here): BOYS - The William Penn and Dallastown boys now rank No. 1 and 2, respectively, in the Class AAAA rankings. - If the season ended today, South Western and Central York would nab Class AAAA's final two playoff spots (the top 20 quad-A teams qualify). - Defending district champ Eastern York stays at the No. 2 spot in Class AAA, behind unbeaten Lancaster Catholic. - Hanover and Delone continue to hover near the top of the Class AA rankings. The Nighthawks remain at No. 1, while the Squires sit at No. 3. GIRLS - Red Lion stays at No. 1 in the Class AAAA rankings. Dallastown (15th) has moved into the field, courtesy of seven straight wins. - In Class AAA, Eastern York has surged to No 5, while Dover and Kennard-Dale sit at No. 8 and 9, respectively. - York Catholic and Delone Catholic continue to dominate the Class AA field. They are No. 1 and 2, respectively. Biglerville (4th) and Hanover (5th) are also in the top five. WRESTLING - This is certainly worth a mention: Biglerville (14-0) and Bermudian Springs (13-0) rank No. 1 and 2 in the Class AA field. The two teams will meet next Wednesday in a dual meet at Biglerville.
