HS Swimming: Bishop McDevitt sweeps Milton Hershey in Mid-Penn Keystone dual meet

The Bishop McDevitt girls swim team picked up their first team win of the season behind a strong performance from Amanda Walker who had wins in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke.   For the boys, Luke Benedict, Dominic Licata, Shaun Weber, and Anthony Pompel each contributed to wins for Bishop McDevitt to earn their second win of the season.


Mt. Lebanon native makes NHL debut

Former Mt. Lebanon high school hockey star defensiveman Matt Bartkowski, Monday, January 10th, is a night that he will never forget.  It is the night Bartkowski made his NHL debut for the Boston Bruins.  To make the night even more perfect, the Bruins were playing the Pittsburgh Penguins at Pittsburgh.


Latrobe ends WCCA title drought

For 31 years Latrobe high school's wrestling program has come up short at the WCCA.  Well this year that streak was put to rest as they won the 58th annual Westmoreland County Coaches Association tournament.   11 Latrobe wrestlers medaled but the ironic thing is that not a single one, won their weight class.  Latrobe hopes to carry this momentum to an eventual trip to Hershey for the team tournament.


Henderson beats East, stays unbeaten

Undefeated West Chester Henderson defeated West Chest East last night 40-21 to stay undefeated in duals to improve to 8-0 overall and 2-0 in the conference.


Cedar Crest defense does the trick vs. rival Annville Cleona

Defense was the name of the game for Cedar Crest Wednesday night as they took on rival Annville-Cleona in CPIHL hockey action.   The Falcons used a shutdown defense to secure a 3-0 win and improve to 9-1-1 on the season.


Spartans deal Conestoga Valley first wrestling loss of the season

In a battle of unbeaten teams, Garden Spot used a 42-0 lead after the first nine bouts to hand Conestoga Valley their first loss of the season 48-21.  Garden Spot moves to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
