Dallastown to celebrate 50 years of wrestling

Dallastown wrestling will use its dual-meet with Dover on Saturday, Jan. 22 to celebrate the program's 50-year anniversary. The high school's administration and wrestling booster club are inviting all Dallastown wrestling alumni -- including wrestlers, coaches and wrestling cheerleaders -- to take part in a ceremony prior to the Wildcats' 7 p.m. match. Participants are asked to check in at the back gym lobby of the high school no later than 6:15, and the ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6:30. After the match, an informal reception will be held in the school cafeteria, during which pictures, programs, scrapbooks and other memorabilia will be displayed. Alumni are invited to bring their own articles or keepsakes on the 22nd, as well. In addition to the ceremony and reception, fans are being asked to take part in a "white out" during the match. There will be merchandise for sale the night of the event, including white T-shirts commemorating the program's 50-year anniversary.
