We gave you the boys' rankings yesterday, now it's the girls' turn... The Fab Five1. Red Lion -- A year after advancing to the state semifinals, the Lions look like they have a chance to be even better this season. Through six games -- all victories -- Red Lion is averaging 53 points scored and just 28.8 points allowed. (Yikes.) It's hard to see who in Division I or II is going to beat the Lions, especially after their lopsided victory against Kennard-Dale on Monday. 2. York Catholic -- They have one of the best players in the state, but the Fighting Irish (5-0) showed Saturday that they're more than just Kady Schrann. At any given time, York Catholic has at least three other players on the the court who can step out and hit a jump shot. With Schrann soaking up much of the attention, those players should find plenty of open shots this season. 3. Delone Catholic -- It really is amazing when you think about it, to have two players this dynamic, this talented playing in the area at the same time. And for two rivals, no less. What Schrann is to York Catholic, junior Sierra Moore (22 ppg so far) is to Delone. The Squires (3-0) are off to a typically strong start. 4. Kennard-Dale -- The Rams ran into a roadblock Monday in the form or Red Lion. That game aside, Kennard-Dale has looked fairly impressive by winning its four games by an average of 23.5 points. At this point, Kennard-Dale looks like a clear favorite in Division II. 5. Dover -- Much like the boys' rankings, these get a little harder to project after the No. 4 spot. That said, it's been quite a start for the Eagles (5-1), one that got better Monday with a tight win against Central York. To think, these same Eagles finished dead last in Division II last season. Best of the rest6. Dallastown -- The Wildcats (3-3) stacked their early-season schedule to prepare them for their division games. This team is loaded with sophomores and looks headed in the right direction. 7. Susquehannock -- Senior Chloe Mistovich (18.5 ppg) is a player worth watching, but the Warriors (3-3) needed to become more consistent. 8. Eastern York -- Starting the season 3-3 doesn't look all that great, until you consider two of those losses were to Delone Catholic and York Catholic. 9. Hanover -- After winning all of two games during the 2009-10 campaign, the Nighthawks (3-2) already have three this season. 10. Biglerville -- We'll give the Canners some respect, after a solid 4-2 start that includes a comeback win against Susquehannock on Monday. On the radar: New Oxford, Bermudian Springs
