Ibarra earns second-team all-state honors

In a season in which she dominated both the YAIAA and District 3 cross country scene, Central York's Kelsey Ibarra collected one more honor this week. The Panthers sophomore was named to 2010 Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association all-state second team, the lone runner from the area to earn in the honor. After breezing to victory in the YAIAA league run, Ibarra kicked past Cumberland Valley's Leigha Anderson in the final 400 meters to claim a District 3 Class AAA championship in October. Ibarra's time of 19:02 was more than a minute better than her performance as a freshman. Her efforts helped Central York earn a third-place in the district team standings, along with a spot in the PIAA championships. At the state meet in November, Ibarra finished in 13th place.
