By the numbers: YAIAA teams in districts

The numbers say this hasn't exactly been the best postseason for YAIAA football. And that's not necessarily because one team -- Red Lion -- remains in the District 3 field. At this time last season, only two York-Adams teams were left standing. It's just that wins in general have proven hard to come by for local teams these last two weeks, with even some of the area's best and most consistent programs losing in the first round. In all, 11 teams from the YAIAA qualified for districts this fall. Those teams have combined to produce just a 4-10 overall record. And remember, two of those four wins have come in games in which two YAIAA teams played each other (Bermudian over Littlestown; Red Lion over Dallastown). Here's how this year's playoff performance by YAIAA teams compares to years past (for more details, see this post from last fall). 2010: 11 qualifiers, 4-10 overall (so far) 2009: 12 qualifiers, 8-12 overall 2008: 11 qualifiers, 7-10 record 2007: 7 qualifiers, 5-6 record 2006: 9 qualifiers, 6-9 record
