PA hoops coach fired for driving with player on his car roof

File this one under "Things you shouldn't do if you're a high school coach."

From the AP:

SLATINGTON, Pa. (AP) - A high school basketball coach who allegedly drove with one of his players hanging off the roof of his car has been fired. The Northern Lehigh school board voted 6-3 to fire boys basketball coach Richard Oertner at a meeting Monday night. Oertner was issued a citation in July after the district's superintendent said he saw the coach driving his car while one of the players was on the roof. The Morning Call reported Northern Lehigh players stood in support of Oertner while one addressed the board on the coach's behalf. In a written statement after the meeting, Oertner said he will miss his players. Oertner was cited for careless driving and having an unauthorized person hanging on a vehicle. A summary trial is scheduled for next month.

I'm just shocked the school board vote wasn't unanimous...
