Red Land's Steve Zack commits to La Salle

I'm actually a day late on this story. And no, Red Land is not a YAIAA member. But because of the school's proximity, I figured this news merited mention.

Steve Zack, the Patriots' 6-foot-11 senior, gave a verbal commitment to attend La Salle on Thursday. The Patriot-News story can be found here.

Zack joined with Red Land teammate Mike Zangari to form an imposing front-court duo this season. Zangari, a 6-foot-9 junior, is also receiving Division I interest.

Zack also has another local connection: He played with the York Ballers AAU team this summer. That squad was loaded with local talent, including Four McGlynn (Dallastown), Evan Ehrhart (Red Lion) and Kevin Donahue (York Suburban), along with several big-time players from all over District 3.

Red Land figures to be a player in districts this year. You'll recall William Penn nipped the Patriots in the District 3 Class AAAA quarterfinals last season.
