The Lauren Walker show

On Tuesday, Red Lion softball coach Kevin Zieber saw something he has never seen before in 17 years of coaching and hopes to never see again - at least against his team.

That was the day that Central York's Lauren Walker (above), known more for her pitching prowess, hit four home runs against his young squad. Yes, that's right - four.

And coach "Z" will tell you, none of them were cheap.

Walker led off the game circling the bases with a drive into the gap in right-center, over the head of everybody. Walker's second dinger was a shot down the left field line.

But Zieber said the third was the hardest one after Walker drilled what he called "a bomb" that split the gap between left and center. The fourth round-tripper, the Panther star took advantage of the Lions' defensive positioning and hit the ball deep to right.

"Give Lauren all the credit," Zieber said. "She is a great hitter, a great pitcher, and a great all-around player. She had a tremendous day and I tip my hat to her. I never saw anything like it before and probably won't see it again."
