Dallastown's Kline up to eight scholarship offers

This spring has been a little crazy for Dallastown's Ben Kline.

How crazy? When I got a hold of the junior linebacker via phone Wednesday, he was on his way back from a visit to West Virginia's spring practice.

That was one of a series of spring visits for Kline, who said his list of offers has grown to eight and includes schools like West Virginia, Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan, Pittsburgh and Boston College.

More offers, it seems, may be coming. Penn State has shown interest (Kline will attend the Blue-White game on Saturday). Iowa and Vanderbilt are planning to visit the 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker this spring. Alabama invited him to a summer camp.

Already this spring, Kline has visited Michigan, UConn and Pitt.

"Meeting with a lot of coaches is really fun," Kline said. "These are people you grow up watching and see on TV every week. To meet them and talk to them is awesome."

So Kline has plenty of suitors. What he doesn't have: An early favorite.

"One of my main goals during this spring period here is to keep everybody even and take everything in," Kline said. "Then I'll sit down during the summer and sort of cut things down."

Stay tuned for a bigger story on Kline's recruitment in the next few days.
