Sutton out as coach at New Hope Academy

Sam Sutton is no longer the boys' basketball coach at New Hope Academy.

New Hope school board member Dave Graybill said a decision was made earlier this week by the school's administration to not bring Sutton back for a third season. The former William Penn standout had coached the Mighty Ants in each of the program's first two seasons, and this past winter led New Hope to a 17-3 record and a District 3 Class A playoff appearance.

Attempts Friday night to reach Sutton and New Hope Academy founder (and former William Penn coach) Isiah Anderson were unsuccessful. It was not immediately clear if Sutton would continue with his role as athletic director at the school.
