Central York, Northeastern top PVCA state volleyball rankings

It's not exactly a secret: York County has had a propensity of late for producing some pretty good volleyball teams.

This spring is no exception.

A pair of YAIAA boys' teams sit atop the Week 1 edition of the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association's (PVCA) Top 10 list. Central York is currently rated No. 1 among Class AAA schools, while Northeastern tops the Class AA rankings.

Another York-Adams league representative -- Eastern York -- is slotted at No. 9 among double-A schools. All three teams are 1-0 this year.

Northeastern, coached by Matt Wilson (above), won a District 3 title last year and made it all the way to the state semifinals. Central York took third in districts last season. We'll see if both can improve on those finishes this season.
