In the end, the result was the same when York Catholic played Villa Maria Academy in the PIAA Class AA championship game for the second straight season.

In a game eerily similar to last year's final, the Irish fell behind just a bit too much and, despite a valiant comeback, fell to the Victors, 52-44.

Kady Schrann paced York Catholic with 21 points, but Villa's Karlee McBride proved worthy of her scholarship to Notre Dame with 29 points and 11 rebounds.

The Irish cut the gap with four straight 3-pointers, yet couldn't get the stops they needed, even though they made it a one-possession game late in the fourth at 47-44.
