From reporter John Clayton

HALFTIME: Eastern's down, 35-2,7 at halftime. Both Andrew Nicholas and Austin Tillotson are struggling in the first half. Nicholas has five points, Tillotson has eight and they're shooting a combined 3-of-16 from the field.

It's a chippy, physical game with 21 combined fouls at the half. Four eastern starters have at least two fouls.

Eastern's definitely being outplayed, but somehow still in it. Tony Chennault has 11 and Daniel Stewart has 12 for Neumann-Goretti.

York Catholic-Delone Catholic :
From Cory Mull and Travis Johnson

END 1ST HALF:

Folks, it's been rough through the first half. After 16 minutes, it's safe to say York Catholic is thoroughly dominating an overmatched Delone Catholic. squad. The Irish are winning 26-13, led behind four 3-pointers in the first quarter. Kady Schrann is leading all scorers with 13 points while Brittany Hicks has added 8, all of which came in the first period. Schrann has been rock solid for York Catholic. Delone Catholic hasn't been able to match her on the defensive end just yet.

For the Squirettes, it's been a rough half. Delone is 5-of-17 overall and sophomore standout Sierra Moore only has 2 points. Courtney Riggs is the high scorer with 4 points. But the Squirettes did have a relatively successful second quarter, as they forced a few turnovers on the defensive end.

PREGAME NOTES: We're 30 minutes

prior to tip at Spring Grove High and the gym, which is expected to

hold approximately 1,750 fans, is almost near full capacity. A set of

bleachers has been added to the south end, below the York Catholic

baseline. Delone Catholic has a large student body at the game and they

are already standing. There isn't an ardent student section on York

Catholic's side just yet.

Both York Catholic and Delone Catholic have hit the court for pre-game warmups.

Injury

report: Delone Catholic senior guard Chelsea Hoffman is wearing a left

leg brace due to an injury she suffered against Lancaster Mennonite on

Friday during the PIAA Class AA quarterfinals in Enola. On Monday,

Delone head coach Gerry Eckenrode said Hoffman wasn't 100-percent.

Hoffman is still set to start.

Starters: Delone Catholic,

Sierra Moore, Chelsea Hoffman, Maria Photiades, Sierra Schimizzi,

Courtney Riggs; York Catholic, Brittany Hicks, Kady Schrann, Carly

Marks, Rachel Forjan, Karli McFatridge.

Archbishop Ryan 49, Red Lion 43

From Steve Navaroli/Jim Seip at the game:

FOURTH QUARTER: Red Lion needed its biggest comeback of the postseason to advance to the Class AAAA state championship game. It looked like a possibility with about four minutes to play in the game. But Archbishop Ryan withstood the Red Lion rally.

Archbishop Ryan won 49-43 at Reading's Geigle Complex.

The Ragdolls' Sarah Strybuc hit two open 3-pointers in the third quarter to allow Archbishop Ryan to grab all the momentum in the low-scoring but physical contest. Archbishop Ryan held a nine-point edge to start the fourth quarter. But Red Lion's Sarah Innerst hit three 3-pointers in the period, including a long-range jumper to cut the deficit to two points with 3:56 to play.

Archbishop's Jess Koci scored her 1,000th point late in the game.

Red Lioin's Bailey Fuentes fouled out of the game.

Erica Maciejewski scored a team-high 16 points for Red Lion.

Strybuc scored a game-high 17 and Koci had 16 for the Ragdolls.

Koci 16

Straybuc 17

Eastern York's large contingent of student fans has cheered for the Lions.

THIRD QUARTER: Archbishop Ryan appears to have solved Red Lion's frantic defensive press, scoring on putbacks and drives to the lane. The Ragdolls lead the Lions 28-20 with under two minutes to play in third quarter.

About midway through the quarter Sarah Strybuc hit a 3-pointer to provide Archbishop Ryan with its -- then -- biggest lead of four points. But the Ragdolls have continued to work the ball into the paint, scoring on drives to the hoop and easy putbacks.

Red Lion's offense is struggling to keep up in the third quarter.

Red Lion struggled against the zone in the second quarter and was outscored 12-4.

Eric Maciejewski has been the best Red Lion player out there. She leads with 8 points and six rebounds.
