National record set at PIAA swimming championships

LEWISBURG -- Hershey's David Nolan has set a National Federation of High Schools national swimming record at the PIAA Class AA Swimming and Diving Championships in Lewisburg.



Nolan completed the 200-yard individual medley in 1:43.43 at Bucknell University on Friday.



Nolan's time surpassed the previous national record of 1:45.25, established by Chestertin, Indiana's Kyle Whitaker in the Indiana state championships on Feb. 27.



The national record time was the first of Nolan's two gold medals of the evening.



He swam leadoff on Hershey's winning 200 medley relay team that established a state record in 1:30.27.
