Two district titles down for YAIAA, one to go?

The top-seeded West York girls will play in the program's first-ever District 3 championship game tomorrow, when it meets second-seeded Trinity in the Class AAA final at the Giant Center at 11:15 a.m.

If the Bulldogs win, they'd complete a banner district season for the YAIAA. West York could become the third York-Adams hoops team to win a district crown this year -- joining the Eastern York boys (AAA) and York Catholic girls (AA).

It would be the fourth time three YAIAA basketball teams have won a district title in the same year (four local teams won district titles in 2007). Here are the other three years:

2007: West York boys (2007), York Catholic boys (AA), Eastern York girls (AAA), York Catholic girls (AA)

1987: York Catholic boys (AAA), Eastern York boys (AA), New Oxford girls (AAA)

1979: York Catholic boys (AA), Littlestown boys (A), York Catholic girls (A)

Also, a reminder to everybody that we'll be at the Giant Center tomorrow live blogging the West York-Trinity matchup. We'll kick off the proceedings at around 11 a.m. You can also follow the game on our GameTimePA Twitter page. Hope to see you all there.
