6:18 -- Kennard-Dale goes out with a whimper. Boone pulls away and cruises to a 63-44 victory. They will face the winner of West York and Eastern York.

6:00 -- Rams start the quarter with a four-point spurt, but Daniel Boone answers right cack. York's rebound and three-point play puts Boone back up 51-40 with about five minutes to go.

5:53 -- Daniel Boone responds with a torrid run of it's own to end the quarter by taking advantage of some KD turnovers. 45-36 Blazers after three.

5:47 -- Kennard-Dane makes a run here on back to back three point plays by Tarbert and O'Kane to make it 30-28. No other Rams player has scored since the first quarter.

5:35 -- West York girls arrived here a few minutes ago. I got a word with coach Jon Shultz, who said his team did some team-building exercises this week following the Bulldogs loss to Red Lion in the league title game.

"We had two great practices back to back, got back to the basics of what our progam is about," Shultz said.

Shultz said his teams needs to get it's transition offense back in sync against Eastern, the team which beat West York in last year's district playoffs.

"The last two years," Shultz said. "Each night they're going to come and play tough."

5:22 -- Offense picks up a bit for KD here. Tarbert and O'Kane each have six in the second quarter and the Rams go into halftime down 22-20.

5:97 -- Quite sloppy early on from Kennard-Dale. They get their first points on two Sara Tarbert free throws with 3:34 left in the first quarter, and get their first bucket a minute later on Sammy Pierce's 3-pointer. Rams with six turnovers in the fram and trail, 10-6.

4:51 -- Just talked to Kennard-Dale coach Jeff Stratmeyer, who said the key for his team will be controlling Daniel Boone's aptly named junior guard Amanda York. He said the Rams will match up senior guard Mariah Smith on York.

KD will also be focused on junior forward Erin Hughes.

"We'll concentrate on those two and go from there," Stratmeyer said.

On offense, Stratmeyer said, the Rams will try to pound the ball inside to forwards Sara Tarbert and Devon O'Kane. The Blazers don't have any players 6-feet or taller.

4:43 -- Howdy folks from New Oxford High School, where we have a tripleheader of hoops action on tap (see full schedule in previous post). First up in girls Class AAA action, it's Kennard-Dale vs. Daniel Boone.
