The first round of the YAIAA boys' and girls' basketball tournaments -- scheduled to begin tomorrow -- have officially been pushed back to Tuesday night, league basketball chairman Marty Trimmer said.

The boys' and girls' semifinals will take place on Thursday, with a finals doubleheader slated for Saturday at York College. The boys' final will take place at 3 p.m., while the girls' will tip off at 7 p.m.

Trimmer said the final gametimes and locations for the first round will be released sometime tomorrow, depending on when the final seedings for the tournament are set.

Of course, the elephant in the room here is obvious. Let's say the snowfall which forecasters are projecting for Monday ends up being significant, and Tuesday's slate of games is affected. What then?

Trimmer chuckled when asked the question.

"Haven't talked about it," he said. "The only thing we have to do is go to Wednesday. I hope it doesn't come to that, but you never know the way things have been."
