Spring Grove soccer star Katie Holtzapple will celebrate Wednesday's National Signing Day by officially accepting a full scholarship to Towson.

Per an email from the school district, the senior forward will sign her letter of intent Wednesday at Spring Grove High School. Wednesday is the first day athletes from several sports, including soccer, can officially commit to a school.

Holtzapple has put up sparkling numbers for Spring Grove the last few years. She was named the YAIAA Division I player of the year as a sophomore in 2008, after she notched 19 goals and 14 assists for the division-champion Rockets. Holtzapple was also named a Division I all-star last season for her role in leading Spring Grove to a District 3 playoff appearance.

Towson, which plays in the Colonial Athletic Association, finished 7-11-2 overall last season, 3-7-1 in conference play.
