Susquehannock picks Gue as next football coach
It looks like Susquehannock has finally settled on a candidate to fill its vacant head football coaching gig.
According to a release on the program's Web site, former Lancaster Catholic assistant coach Deron Gue will be recommended as the Warriors next head coach.
As of late Saturday afternoon, calls made to Gue and Susquehannock athletic director Chuck Abbott had not been returned.

Athletic Director Chuck Abbott annouces his recommendation for SHS Varsity Head Football Coach. On Thursday, January 21, 2010 Abbott will recommend to the SYCSD school board Mr. Deron Gue as the next Head Coach of the SHS football program. Coach Gue comes to Glen Rock with 17 years of experience as a football coach, including his most recent position as the assistant coach of the Lancaster Catholic High School football program for the past 5 years. Coach Gue was a part of the LC Crusaders 2009 PIAA-AA State Championship team, where they won against the LPIAL champs from Greensburg Central Catholic HS at Hershey Park stadium ina close game 21-14 on 12/20/09. His assignment for 2009 was coaching the Varsity Running Backs, and serving as the JV Offensive Coordinator. He exhibited his technical ability as the video coordinator for the LC program as well. He holds a BSE from Millersville University and is a graduate of Dallastown High School. He is presently a seventh grade geography teacher at Penn Manor Middle School, where he has been employed for the last 9 years. He and his wife, Judy, have been married for 19 years and have two children; Allison(15) and Matt(13) .
Lancaster Catholic head coach Bruce Harbach said Gue informed him of his intention to take the Susquehannock job.
"He's smart, works hard at what he does. He done various things for us," Harbach said. "He communicates well with the kids and the parents. He's kind of an intense coach, which you have to be to be a head coach."
The Crusaders, of course, put the finishing touches last month on a Class AA state championship. The Warriors finished 0-10 last year -- their first winless season since 1990.
