YAIAA girls' basketball power rankings 1/12
Now it's the girls' turn, where two of our top three teams will face off on Friday.

1. West York (1) -- The Bulldogs have lived up to their lofty billing at the halfway mark, getting balanced scoring from seniors Liz Kane, Paige Elliot and Ann Deibert. West York (11-0) will have to pass another big test Friday, when Delone Catholic comes to town.
2. Red Lion (2) -- I considered moving Delone here after their big win against York Catholic. I just couldn't move the Lions (11-1) down after beating their three biggest contenders in Division I (Central, New Oxford, South Western) in the space of seven days. Don Dimoff's team hasn't racked up many style points this year, but it's gotten the job done.
3. Delone Catholic (4) -- The Squirettes (10-1) took down York Catholic on Monday behind 22 points and 14 boards from Sierra Moore. But Delone is more than Moore. Through the first nine games of the season, The Squirettes were averaging 61.9 points per game, while allowing just 33.
4. York Catholic (3) -- The Irish sprung a fourth-quarter comeback Monday against Delone, but it was too little, too late for Kevin Bankos' crew. York Catholic has shown some chinks in the armor this year, but Bankos' has been pretty good at getting his team ready to play come the postseason.
5. Spring Grove (6) -- The Rockets (10-2) have won four in a row since losing to Hershey before the New Year. Sisters Codi and Carli McMaster continue to average double figures, and the Rockets canned eight 3-pointers in Monday's blowout of Biglerville.
6. New Oxford (5) -- Last week's loss aside, there's a lot for Colonials coach Brandon Horick to be happy about. New Oxford (9-2) still has just one loss in Division I, has some young talent -- led by freshman guard Lindsey Miller -- around to complement senior Julia Antonelli.
7. Dallastown (8) -- The Wildcats hit a rough patch with losses to Red Lion and New Oxford, but seem to have found their touch again. Dallastown demolished Division I rival Central York on Monday, 62-37.
8. South Western (NR) -- The Mustangs couldn't hang with Red Lion on Monday, but at 6-3 they've already equaled their win total from all of last season. South Western is allowing around 30 points per game, and has two players (Natalie Greenholt and Emily Smith) averaging in double-figures.
9. Eastern York (10) -- The Golden Knights (6-4) have had a nice little resurgence after a rough start to the year. Most recently, Eastern scored a comfortable win over York Suburban on Monday.
10. Kennard-Dale (NR) -- That 5-5 record doesn't look great, but all five of those losses were to good teams. Sara Tarbert is having a stellar freshman season, averaging 11.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
