If West York coach Ron Miller wants a scouting report of Susquehanna Township and their dual-threat quarterback, Ben Dupree, he could call one fellow YAIAA coach.

New Oxford coach Matt Muller witnessed first-hand just how explosive the Indians offense can be. The Ox faced Township in the first round of the District 3, Class AAA playoffs two weeks ago -- a game the Colonials lost 42-7.

Tuesday evening, Daily Record/Sunday News reporter Steve Navaroli chatted with Muller about the Indians spread-option attack. Not surprisingly, he said everything starts and ends with the Indians prolific quarterback.

"He's so elusive. Get him on turf and in the situation of open space it's not fun," Muller said of Dupree. "You have got to be disciplined when you play them. They have a lot of weapons. (Dupree is) the catalyst. Without a doubt he is the real deal."

Dupree rolled up 248 yards from scrimmage in 24 minutes against the Colonials -- not quite on par with the 505 yards he had last week against Cocalico, but still not bad. Dupree ran for one touchdown and passed for two more against New Oxford.

Township also showed its depth that game. Six different Indians scored touchdowns.

"The films I have seen they have done a little bit of everything," Muller said. "They do several different things. I wouldn't characterize it as tricky, I just see some confident kids. You have to prepare for everything. Make a mistake it's like lightning. If you don't seize the opportunity it's tough. They don't give up many."
