Kudos to CSY

Everyone plays for the Christian School of York boys soccer team.

That's not to say that is a bad thing or a bad policy, but in the case of the Crusaders it is a necessity. CSY only has 14 players on its roster.

"It's a team game and it took every single one of them to make the team," coach Luke Adams said. "They came on and dedicated themselves to fighting the whole way through."

The team, which includes Jake Miller (16), Aaron Flanders (shirt up) and Mike Geesey (2) in the above photo, did that and more. After starting the season 1-4, CSY rallied to finish 13-8.

The Crusaders impressed a lot of people including York Catholic coach Milner Sosa after the Irish knocked off CSY 2-1 in District 3, Class A soccer action. Senior JD Hackos, who scored both Irish goals in that game noticed too.

"They were speedy and we weren't used to the team. They kind of caught us off guard," Hackos said.

The CSY defensive line was solid in that game. Adams said an adjustment, which put leader Heath Grim with a pair of younger players. The combination has worked, as did moving goalkeeper Jake Miller to the field after an arm injury and sending Dalton Forbes between the pipes.
