Katy Grenewalt, the embattled Red Lion athletic director who has been suspended without pay since May 21, was officially fired today by the school's board, more than a month after her dismissal hearings ended.

School board solicitor Michael King confirmed the decision via phone Wednesday night. The school board ruled 6-3 to dismiss Grenewalt, and announced its decision earlier today. Grenewalt had come under fire for a PIAA rules breach last winter that cost the Red Lion boys' basketball team nine wins and a shot at the playoffs.

Grenewalt was not available for comment Wednesday night, but hopefully we'll get a chance to hear her side of the story in the coming days.
