Dallastown's Groh closes in on 100

The Dallastown boys' soccer team scored a convincing, early-season win Tuesday, trouncing William Penn at home 9-0.

Believe it or not, that scoreline wasn't the exceptional part. The win was Dallastown head coach Mitch Groh's 99th career victory at the school. He will go for No. 100 Thursday, when the Wildcats visit South Western.

Groh, a former standout on Dallastown's soccer team who played collegiately at Elizabethtown, is in his ninth year as Wildcats head coach. He spent five years coaching the Dallastown junior varsity team before grabbing the varsity reins in 2001.

Groh's Wildcats finished 17-5 last year, making the District playoffs for the second straight year. Dallastown is 3-0 so far this year.
