Solanco's Spiller leaning towards wrestling in college

It’s a problem most high school athletes would love to have.

“What sport should I play in college?”

Such is the issue for Solanco senior Bo Spiller who is entering his final seasons as a Golden Mules football player and wrestler.

Spiller finished fourth in the state in the 220-pound division in the PIAA tournament last winter and is geared up for an even better senior season.

However, Spiller almost didn’t even wrestle in 2013-14 (SEE STORY HERE) because he wanted to focus on football.

While it’s still early and nothing has been decided yet, Spiller may be having another change of heart and could be leaning towards staying on the mat in college.

“I think about it every day. It’s a hard decision,” Spiller said. “I’ve always wanted to play football but recently I’ve been thinking wrestling.”

Spiller has had contact with Lafayette and Bucknell for football and has talked with Maryland, Bloomsburg and Drexel for wrestling.

If this is in fact Spiller’s final football season of his career, he wants it to end with a bang.

“I’d like to make all-star honorable mention. That’s been my goal since I started high school so we’ll see what happens.”
