The District 3 softball playoffs have come and gone but I wanted to take a look back at one of the more impressive at-bats that took place during the tournament.

In the first at-bat of the game, Hempfield shortstop Kendall Beck went through a grueling 15-pitch battle with Solanco pitcher Caitlyn Armstrong during the second round of the district playoffs. Beck was able to grind out a walk after fouling off 11 pitches.

"I think that's indicative of the tenacity that this team has had. That's a pretty gutsy at-bat," Hempfield coach Brian Lohr said. "That was big of Kendall but that's how she is and really how most of this team is."

The Black Knight went on to defeat the Golden Mules, 7-5 and finished fourth in the district playoffs.

Here’s a quick look at Beck’s at-bat.
