Delone-Hanover, Spring Grove-South Western: Who dominates?

The Delone Catholic-Hanover and South Western-Spring Grove rivalries are two of the most heated locally. They're always competitive. There's plenty of trash talk. Students get into it on social media. There's always a "they don't like us, we don't like them" mentality. There are a lot of bragging rights and pride at stake. But who has dominated these two rivalries this year? We tallied up the wins in head-to-head matchups across all fall and winter sports so far. The results are below. Let the bragging begin.

Hanover vs. Delone Catholic

The cross-borough rivalry has been all Delone in 2014-2015. Hanover picked up all of their wins in boys basketball and field hockey. Other than that, Delone has dominated. The Squires/Squirettes swept Hanover in girls volleyball, boys soccer, girls basketball and girls soccer.

Spring Grove vs. South Western

On the York side of the county line, the Mustangs picked up a win in their chippy football game against Spring Grove. The Rockets did sweep in boys basketball and boys soccer, but the Mustangs picked up two wins each in field hockey, girls basketball and girls soccer. The only sport that was split this season was girls volleyball.
