New Oxford re-dedicating newly-installed basketball court

On Saturday, Jan. 10, New Oxford High School will be re-dedicating its newly-installed basketball court before a boys' hoops game against Delone Catholic.

After the junior varsity girls' game is completed, there will be a ceremony to honor Jake Diviney, who racked up more than 450 wins and won a Blue Mountain League title with the Colonials in 1976. Diviney retired in 1983 after coaching for more than 30 years.

Following the brief ceremony, there will be an alumni game, and then the Colonials will take on Delone Catholic in the first game on the new floor.

"This is an exciting time for us as a program," New Oxford head coach Sean Bair said. "The new floor was certainly needed, the improvements to the gym look fantastic, and the players are definitely proud to play at home every night."
