The Week Ahead: 2/3-2/7- End of an era, for all the marbles between York Catholic and Delone and more

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 3

BASKETBALLBig Spring at Gettysburg (boys at 6:30, girls at 8:00)-

A double-header at Gettysburg closes out the end of an era. Monday’s contest against Big Spring marks the last regular season game for the Warriors in the Mid-Penn.  Monday is also the last home game for Trey Thomas on the guys side and Cami Boehner on the girls, one of the most decorated basketball players to come out of Gettysburg in a long time.  Boehner moved into third place on Gettysburg’s all-time scoring list on Friday with a 36 point effort against Spring Grove. The Shepherd-bound senior looks to close out her career on her home court in strong fashion. Both teams look likes locks for the District 3 tournament.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4

GIRLS BASKETBALLDelone Catholic at York Catholic, 7:30 p.m.-

If Delone Catholic wins, they are the YAIAA Division IV champs. When these two teams met in early January, it was Delone Catholic who pulled out the 45-41 win behind 18-points from Maddie Comly. The Squirettes are on an 11-game winning streak and the Irish are on a six-game winning streak.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5

WRESTLINGNew Oxford at Kennard-Dale, 7 p.m. -

Kennard-Dale is a hike, no doubt, but this will be the last home match for all-everything wrestler Chance Marsteller. It is no secret, Martsteller just a few wins away from becoming the fourth wrestler in PIAA history to go undefeated all four years of high school. If you can, take a trip out there to see him possibly inch one step closer to that goal.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6

SWIMMINGCentral York at Dallastown, 4:30 p.m.- Two of the top swimming teams in the YAIAA square off against each other in the regular season finale. The YAIAA Division I title is on the line for both the boys and the girls teams. The two teams combine for top times in the YAIAA in 15 of the 24 events. Last week the Wildcats boys and girls teams combined to set 16 pool records in a win over Spring Grove. Both teams are clicking on all cylinders. If you like swimming, this is a meet you do not want to miss.
