Former Delone Catholic guard nears 1,000 points at Penn State York

With six regular season games to play, former Delone Catholic guard Courtney Riggs is only 56 points away from scoring 1,000 points for Penn State York.

At 6 p.m. tonight, Riggs hopes to dig in a little closer to the milestone, playing against visiting Penn State Beaver. The on-campus gym is located in the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center.

Riggs ranks among the top 10 scorers the Penn State University Athletic Conference, scoring 16.7 points per game this season. Since the second semester started, Riggs has been on a tear, scoring 22 points per contest.

At Delone Catholic, Riggs, a 2011 grad, scored 681 points, mostly as a guard during her three years as a starter. She shared responsibilities with 2012 graduates Sierra Moore and Maria Photiades.

The Penn State York men's team plays at 8 p.m. tonight at home, hoping to improve on its already impressive 17-1 record. The team is undefeated in conference play.
