PA/MD Boys Basketball Showcase


If you are a basketball fan than you will want to make your way to Gettysburg High School on Saturday, January 25th.

The Gettysburg Lions Club is sponsoring a PA/MD boys' basketball tournament in which six teams from Pennsylvania and six teams from Maryland will square off and face each other. The first game starts at 1:20 p.m. , and the last game starts at 8:00 p.m. Here is a breakdown of the games.

Red Land vs Francis Scott Key (MD)- 1:20 p.m. - Red Land enters the game 4-11 and is led by Morgon Keiser and his 14.7 points per game. Francis Scott Key comes in at 5-6. They started the season 1-5 but have won five of their last six games.

New Oxford vs Liberty (MD) - 2:40 p.m. - Both teams come into the game struggling. New Oxford is 3-13 and is led by Alex Decinti and his 10.7 points per game. Liberty stands at 1-9 overall and is in the middle of a rebuilding season. They are led by sophomore David Downs and junior guard Austin Bode.

Carlisle vs Western Tech (MD) - 4:00 p.m. - Carlisle enters the week at 8-6, riding a two-game winning streak. The Thundering Herd are led by Jordan Dockens and his 18.8 points per game. Western Tech is currently 6-3.

Chambersburg vs Frederick (MD) - 5:30 p.m. - Chambersburg is 1-14. They won their season opener and have not won since. Frederick enters with a record of 5-5. They are led by senior Christian James and his 16.3 points per game. Frederick has won three of their last four games.

West York vs Howard (MD) - 6:40 p.m. - West York sits atop the YAIAA Division II standings at 16-1. They are led by Kevin Rice and his 14.8 points per game. Howard comes in at 5-8.

Gettysburg vs Hereford (MD) - 8:00 p.m. - The host Warriors enter the game at 11-5. They are led by Trey Thomas and his 14.8 points per game. Hereford comes in at 6-6 having dropped three of their last four contests
