25th Annual Hanover Sports Night set for January 28th


The 25th Annual Hanover Sports Night is happening 6:30 p.m. on January 28th at the SAVES Social Hall.

The featured guest this year is former Baltimore Raven running back Jamal Lewis. Lewis was inducted into the Baltimore Raven's Ring of Honor on September 27, 2012. He is the Raven's all-time leading rusher with 7,801 yards.

After leaving the Ravens in 2006, Lewis played several more years for the Cleveland Browns before retiring in 2009. He finished his career with 10,607 yards rushing including 103 yards rushing in Super Bowl XXV in which the Ravens defeated the New York Giants 34-7.

Also in attendance will be former Baltimore Colt Roy Hilton. Hilton was a defensive end of member of the Colts' 1970 NFL Championship Team in Super Bowl V.

Penn State head women's soccer coach Erica Walsh will also be in attendance. She was the 2012 NSCAA National Coach of the Year and two-time Big Ten Coach of the Year.

According to the press release, the purpose of the Hanover Sports Night is to focus attention on the youth of the greater Hanover area. Recognizing scholar-athletes form Hanover, South Western, Spring Grove and Delone Catholic High Schools for their achievements.

There is a buffet dinner and program, as well as an auction and door prizes. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for students
