Hanover alum sets school marks

York College indoor track star Abbey Rhodes set a school record recently in the Spartans season opener at Bucknell University.

The Spartans faced Division I and Division II teams in their opener and Rhodes set a school record in shot put as she finished with a distance of 36-7.5 which was good enough for 8th place. On her third throw she set the record with 11.16m.

The sophomore broke the previous record of 10.45 held by Meaghan Jackson in 2011.

The Spartans next meet is January 11th at the Bucknell Mini-Meet.
