Madisen Kling put a notch on her track and field belt recently with the announcement of the Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association’s all-state team.

The Red Lion junior was named to the third team after claiming the PIAA Class 3A discus title with a throw of 141-03.

Even though her toss was the best in Class 3A, two Class 2A throwers had longer tosses to claim first- and second-team honors.

Kling is one of two York-Adams athletes to make the team, which combines classes 2A and 3A for one team. The team is voted on by coaches in the association.

West York’s Luke Hoffman was named honorable mention after his third-place finish in the PIAA Class 3A discus.

Kling and Hoffman were District 3 discus champions and were the GameTimePA YAIAA female and male track and field athletes of the year, respectively.
