Susquehannock closes out regular season with win


On a night that felt more like the beginning of the season than the end of it, the Susquehannock girls' lacrosse team struck early and often against Red Lion in Division 1 regular-season finale for both squads.

The Warriors scored 15 first-half goals en route to the 23-6 victory.

Susquehannock (13-1, 11- Division I) was led by Gena Speights' six goals and Riley Roeder added five goals and added. Kenna Hancock added four goals and four assists.

It was the 10th win in a row for the Warriors, which finish the regular season on Saturday against Hempfield before beginning the county playoffs.

Peyton Shima led Red Lion (9-7, 7-5) with three goals and two assists. The Lions will look to bounce back from the defeat in the District 3 Class 3A playoffs.
