Cocalico aiming for bounce-back season

Team:

Cocalico

Class: 5A

Head Coach: Dave Gingrich (89-48)

The Eagles missed out on the District 3 playoffs in 2015 with three of their five losses coming within a touchdown or less.

Cocalico enters the 2016 season with some more experience up front that should help the execution of their veer offense. Stepping in to engineer that offense will be senior quarterback Brady Sawyer. This will be Sawyer’s first season as a full-time starter but he’s no newbie under center. As a sophomore in 2014, Sawyer stepped in as a backup and helped lead the Eagles to the District 3 title game. Sawyer also saw some time last season when starter Dante Haines went down with an injury.

It’s hard to imagine Dave Gingrich’s bunch not taking a step forward in 2016.
