H.S. BASKETBALL: Eight locals named Mid Penn First-Team All-Stars
The Mid Penn Colonial Division was very kind to area players this year.
Out of the 10 spots on the boys and girls basketball first-team all-stars, local players were given eight nods – four boys and four girls.
Greencastle-Antrim led the area with three honors. On the girls side, Hannah Crist and Jenay Faulkner were both named to the first team, and Casey Hoover joined them on the boys first team.
Shippensburg and Waynesboro both had a pair of selections. For the Greyhounds, Bryce Hastings and Wade Mills earned first-team nods, while Ryan Kelley had the honor for Waynesboro's boys team, and Cat Weber was picked to the first team for the Maidens. Rounding out the area's first-team selections was Jennae Piper, of James Buchanan.
There were three Franklin County boys who were named to the Colonial Division's second team with Waynesboro's Connor Fetterhoff, James Buchanan's Ryan Hege and Shippensburg's Teagan Staver all receiving the honor. James Buchanan's Charity Miller and Greencastle's Katie Gelsinger joined them on the girls side.
The area also nailed down several Colonial Division honorable mentions. For the girls, the nods went to Greencastle's Jane Herman, Shippensburg's Drew Lovett and Waynesboro's Olivia Gardenhour, and the boys were represented by Waynesboro's Cameron Keck and Greencastle's Sam Sprague.
Chambersburg had a pair of honorable mentions in the Commonwealth Division. Cole Christian represented the boys team, and Jenn Grove was on the girls side.
