Shane Dunlap's pick

Why he chose it: "A photographer once told me good sports photography is like finding a four-leaf clover. Years could go by before you see one. This photo is probably more like a three-and-a-half leaf clover. The kids were very good sports about it and the base runner fortunately was not hurt."
Clare Becker's pick
Littlestown head coach Mike Lippy is doused with ice water by Lucas Reynolds and Cole Warner while hoisting a giant Hershey's chocolate bar after the Thunderbolts' win against Wyomissing in a District 3 Class AA semifinal in November. The win sent Lippy and the Bolts to Hersheypark Stadium for the district championship game. (Jeff Lautenberger -- GameTimePA.com)
Why she chose it: "So perfectly shot it looks fake but it's totally real."
Jason Plotkin's pick

Why he chose it: "I love shooting track and field. It is an amazingly disciplined sport that can also be very graceful. The hope I had in taking this photo was to show the process of hurdlers jumping from start to finish in a single shot. You really only have the first hurdle to do this, and these athletes lined up well enough to get the effect I was looking for."
Kate Penn's pick

Why she chose it: "By the time the postseason rolls around, I'm pretty tired of shooting basketball. All the games start to blend together and I'm just ready to be done with gyms and start shooting outside. When I found out the gym this quarterfinal was in had a mezzanine that went right over the hoop on either side, I was totally rejuvenated. It's amazing how having a new angle to shoot from freshens things up. I worked this angle for about a quarter, standing on my tip toes to get my camera over the railing. As soon as I shot this sequence I knew this image was a winner."
Chris Dunn's pick

Why she chose it: "I know basically nothing about diving, but I do know better than to scoff at the sport, as one of my friends did during the Summer Olympics. Frankly, I'm amazed by the things divers make their bodies do while they're falling in style, as Woody from 'Toy Story' would say."
