GRATERFORD — Carlie Perkins, of Avon Grove, won the Perkiomen Valley Invitational women's 1-meter diving with a 432.65 score, holding off Methacton's Samantha Lavrich, who took second with a 408.35, Thursday at the Perk Valley pool.

Methacton's Laura Mackin placed fifth with 323.95, with the Warriors Lauren Hunt eighth (299.95), Emily Rieder 10th (264.65), Natalie Damato 11th (263.65).

Perk Valley's Maura Cunningham tied with Annie Reisenwitz, of Owen J. Roberts, for 13th (152.35).

Liam Fitzgerald, of Bayard Rustin, won the boys diving with a 529.85, holding off Methacton's Kevin Roy, who took second with a 499.10, with the Warriors Dan Roy third with a 383.80.

Perk Valley's Alex Jones placed sixth (331.15), ahead of Tim Graybill, of Owen J. Roberts, at seventh (326.80). The Wildcats Matt Dinnoccenti finished 10th (276.45), the Vikings Dan Kershner 11th (267.85).

 

WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS

Ursinus College sophomore gymnast Kristina Steffenhagen, of Boyertown, was named as the ECAC Specialist of the Week on Wednesday afternoon by the conference office.

Steffenhagen was recognized for her high scores on the vault, beam and floor exercise at a quad meet at Towson on Saturday.

She scored a 9.575 on the beam, a 9.525 on the floor and a 9.375 on the vault. She scored all of this as the only Division III school at the meet, which featured host Towson, Temple and Cornell University.
