Boys' soccer

Lower Moreland 2, Springfield 1: Yoni Alush hit the winner for the Lions as Lower Moreland took down Springfield 2-1 in non-conference action. Dylan Morganstein opened the scoring for the Lions.

Tenzin Wangyal had the lone goal for Springfield, which was assisted by Riley Woron. Springfield is now 2-7 overall and 2-5 in league play.

North Penn 1, Archbishop Wood 0: Ryan Hemsley stopped six shots in a losing effort, as Archbishop Wood (7-4-1) lost to North Penn, 1-0, in a non-conference meeting Saturday. Abdul Mohamed scored in the 61st minute thanks to an assist from Kevin McKenna to give North Penn the victory. Jordan Katz stopped two shots in net for North Penn.

Wissahickon 2, Central Bucks East 0: Wissahickon received a pair of goals from Cole Kropnick in a 2-0 win over Central Bucks East in a non-conference meeting Saturday. Alex Chiodo-Ortiz recorded an assist for Wissahickon, while Neal Guaglianone and John Carozza combined to stop four shots in the combined shutout.

Friends Central 3, Academy New Church 0: Academy New Church suffered its first loss of the season, a 3-0 Friends League falter against Friends Select on Friday. Keeper Alex Langlotz had nine saves for the Lions.

ANC is now 7-1-0 overall, 2-1-0 in conference.

Archbishop Wood 1, Bishop McDevitt 0: Jake McMonagle hit the late winner as Wood downed Philadelphia Catholic League opponent Bishop McDevitt on Friday. Wood outshot McDevitt 13-4 in the match.

Wood keeper Ryan Hemsley had just two saves, but recorded his seventh clean sheet of the season.

The Vikings are now 7-3-1 overall, 5-1-0 in PCL.

Girls soccer

Lansdale Catholic 7, Bishop McDevitt 1: The Crusaders cruised to a 7-1 Philadelphia Catholic League win over Bishop McDevitt. Shannon Ozzimo, Michaela Crimlish and Tara Sheridan had two goals each for LC.

Caroline Menges rounded out the scoring for the Crusaders, while Kerry Goldstein assisted on five of the goals. Bridget Bryson had the lone goal for McDevitt.

LC is now 10-1-1 overall and 6-1-1 in PCL play.

Germantown Academy 3, Episcopal Academy 0: Sophomore Emmy Dolaway and seniors Riley Yankowich and Marley Sternberg scored goals in GA's Inter-Ac League win over Episcopal on Friday. Goalie Kat Stambaugh made five saves in net.

Field hockey

Spring-Ford 3, Wissahickon 2: Wissahickon's Rachel Zimmerman and Stacie Rocco recorded goals in a losing effort, as the Lady Trojans were defeated 3-2 by Spring-Ford in a non-conference meeting Saturday. Gabby Major scored all three of Spring-Ford's goals, while Dante Vagnoni stopped 15 shots in net to earn the win. Claire Tarzia stopped six shots in net for the Lady Trojans.

Methacton 3, Upper Dublin 1: Upper Dublin's Shannon Reape scored the Lady Cardinals' lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Methacton in a non-conference meeting Saturday. Jullian Kenny assisted on Reape's goal, while Sara Weinberg stopped nine shots in net to earn the win. Alexa Hoover scored twice for Methacton, while Maddie Alderfer scored once.

Lower Moreland 6, Jenkintown 0: Lindsay Boerner had four goals in the Lions 6-0 rout of Jenkintown on Friday. Corey Mayer had the other two goals.

Kelly Duffey added two assists.

Episcopal Academy 5, Germantown Academy 1: Molly Magerman scored the only goal for GA as they fell to Episcopal 5-1 in Inter-Ac League play on Friday. Ashley Piszek made 18 saves for the Patriots. The loss dropped GA to 5-3-1 on the year.

Golf

Spring-Ford 200, Hatboro-Horsham 201: Cassidy Gavagnan shot a round low 44 as the Hatters fell by just one stroke to Spring-Ford in non-league action on Monday. Hannah Fireman, Julia Lyon and Lisa Falcone shot 45, 54 and 58, respectively, for Hatboro-Horsham.

Abington 203, Bensalem 253: Abington ended its 2013 season with a 203-253 win over Pennsbury in a Suburban One National Conference meeting Thursday. The 203 was a season best for the Ghosts, who were led by Conor Breslin's 38 at Bensalem Country Club's par-35 front-nine.

Mason Pippert and Matt Chaffee both hit 46, while Pat Cooney was not far behind at 47.

Girls volleyball

Hatboro-Horsham 3, Central Bucks East 1: Sophomore Cassidy Quattro led the offense with 13 kills, junior Sam Jones added nine kills, and junior Alexa Kennedy and sophomore Jaimee Stockzo each had six as the Hatters defeated the Patriots 25-18, 18-25, 25-18, 25-21 in non-league action on Monday. The Hatters had 15 team aces in the win.

Christopher Dock 3, Wissahickon 0: Christopher Dock was led by middles Jackie Teed with seven kills and Melissa Class with five kills as the Pioneers swept Wissahickon 25-16, 25-16, 25-22 on Monday. The serving game was strong once again for Dock with Ashley McGarrity serving five aces while Lanae Hunsberger and Sarah Ryder each added four aces.

Dock's record is now 6-3 overall, 4-0 in league play. Dock faces MaST Charter in league play Tuesday at Dock at 3:45 p.m.

William Tennent 6, Jenkintown 1: Veronica Mierzejewski and Kaitlyn O'Connor were singles winners for the Panthers as they beat the Drakes 6-1 in non-league play on Monday.

Cross country

The Souderton boys cross country team had an excellent outing at the Great Safari 5K at Great Adventure. The Indians finished 12th among a field of teams from all over the country and were led by Paul Caracciolo and Austin Carison.

The freshman squad had the best day of any Indians' team, finishing fourth and taking home four individual medals. Connor McMcminem won the race, while Joe Breen, Shane Cox and Matt Masselle finished eighth, 32nd and 35th, respectively.

The jayvee finished seventh as a team.
