The York Daily Record/Sunday News presents its Div. I golf all-stars.

Boys golfer of the year
--- Wes Ashton, South Western: Ashton's average of 78.3 was the lowest in the division. The scariest part for the competition? The sophomore has two years left. As a freshman, he had the second-lowest average in the league. "If he makes the progress he did this year, he's going to be beating the schools down," coach Tom Miller said. "He has a perfect mentality, he doesn't let a whole lot get to him."

Girls' golfer of the year
--- Lizzy Haas, Red Lion: Haas, a junior, finished third in the YAIAA championship and lettered for the first time after playing a few matches last season.
"I think what she does is she keeps it in the fairways," coach Dave DePrator said. "She keeps it down the middle. She has a pretty good short game and is pretty accurate with her irons." Her twin brother, Joe, was the No. 1 golfer on Red Lion, which was third in Division I with 72 points.
All-stars
--- Brady Leppo, South Western: The Mustangs finished second in Division I of the YAIAA standings with 108 points. Leppo was second in the YAIAA tournament and shot an average of 84.7 in the regular season. Leppo broke 80 three times this season.
--- Jordan Donaldson, Dallastown: The senior and four-year starter

had an 81.1 regular-season scoring average for the Wildcats. Donaldson continued his solid play into the YAIAA and District 3 tournaments, missing out on regionals because of a playoff.
--- Sam Westenberger, Dallastown: Another senior from Dallastown and a three-year starter, Westenberger scored an average of 82.6. He also was one of six golfers in the division to break 80 twice this season.
--- Ryan Hollinger, South Western: The Mustangs junior shot an 82.6 league average. His low round of the season was a 73, including six birdies in the round, at Central's home course, Honey Run. Hollinger also was a district qualifier.
--- Gino Nueslein, Dallastown: A junior, Nueslein had an 83.2 average in the YAIAA. He broke into the lineup this year during Dallastown's second match of the season against Central and settled into the No. 3 spot. He will be the Wildcats' only returning starter next year.

Co-coaches of the year
--- Jere Wynegar, Dover: The Eagles, who are dropping to Division II next season, had one fourth-place finish and battled with a young team all season.
--- Brooke Shoffner, Dallastown: Dallastown won Division I with 120 points and did it in Shoffner's first season as head coach. He had served the previous eight as an assistant and took over with a senior-laden team. "It was a battle between South Western and us from the beginning," Shoffner said. "We won two matches by one stroke, so we were very fortunate to win the division."
