MERCERSBURG -- Trinity placed five players in the top 12, including medalist Jack Goyette, to capture first place in a Mid Penn Capital Division golf match at Whitetail Golf Resort on Thursday afternoon.

Goyette shot a 3-over par 75 to lead the Shamrocks. Host school James Buchanan produced the runner-up, as Landon Hollenshead fired a 78, and Nathan Pool of Greencastle-Antrim was a shot back with a 79.

The Blue Devils (10-2) also placed second in the team event with 433, 21 strokes behind Trinity. Dylan Emmett (84) and Ben Powers (87) also finished in the top 10 for G-A. The Rockets (5-7) did not have another golfer break 100.
