At No. 3 singles, Bell won the Mid Penn title with a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Adriana von Rado of Hershey -- a match in which she trailed 4-0 in each set but rallied to grab a win.
Then Bell and teammate Abby Jacobs played Kailynn Dunkle and Shelby Jones of Lower Dauphin in the MPC doubles final and were defeated 6-1, 6-2.
"Mandy's match was interesting," Trojan coach Mike Kolumban said. "I don't know whether the other girl thought she had the set won already or not, but she was playing patiently and Mandy was making error after error. But Mandy started to work things out and the other girl started to make the errors."
Bell won 6-4 in the first set.
Kolumban said, "In the changeover, before we could even suggest anything, she said she knew what she had to do. She might have started out a little too impatient in the second set, but she changed it around again."
Bell led 5-4 before von Rado tied it up, but Bell won the final two games.
Jacobs and Bell won an early game in the doubles final, but were never really in the match.
"We raced out and got the one point, but it seemed like we never got going after that," Kolumban said. "Lower Dauphin was putting away the winners and crossing well and we couldn't get a handle on things."
Chambersburg (8-4) plays Hershey today in a semifinal of the Mid Penn team tournament.
Jacobs will play in the District 3 singles tournament, and she and Bell will also play in the district doubles event.
