GIRLS
Ellinore Ahearn, Jr., Bermudian Springs: One of the Hanover area's independent entrants, she posted times of 26.47 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle and 56.3 in the 100 freestyle for solid finishes in the District 3 Class AA Championships.
Emily Beamer, So., Gettysburg: Beamer earns All-Area mention for the second time for a season capped by four Mid-Penn Championship medals, seventh in the District 3 Class AAA 100 breaststroke and an appearance in the PIAA meet.
Julia Gilchrist, So., South Western: Earning her first All-Area nod, Gilchrist's contribution this season included three YAIAA Championship medals -- fifth in the 100 freestyle and two relay awards.
Allie Jenkins, Sr., Spring Grove: A three-time All-Area selection, Jenkins won the YAIAA girls' 500-yard freestyle championship in 5:21.37 and followed with sixth place and PIAA qualification in the 200 individual medley at the District 3 meet.
Aubrey Krueger, Sr., South Western: Another three-time selection, Krueger was a member of the runner-up 200 freestyle relay team at the YAIAA Championships and was third in the 100 freestyle in the same meet. She took three medals in the event.
Lauren Magalski, Sr., Spring Grove: A former Female Aquatics Athlete
Katlyn Miller, Fr., Spring Grove: For the second straight year, the All-Area team features a freshman. Miller won four medals at the YAIAA meet, including fourth in the 100 freestyle and fifth in the 50 freestyle.
Emily Ondrizek, So., Gettysburg: A newcomer to the All-Area list, Ondrizek returns in 2010-11 as a three-time Mid-Penn Class AAA medalist in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays and in the 50 freestyle.
Andrea Staub, Sr., Delone Catholic: Earning her second Female Aquatic Athlete of the Year honor, Staub give Delone a female member of the All-Area team for the third straight year. Staub set a Hanover area record in the 200 IM, in which she is a district champion, en route to two medals at the PIAA Class AA Champinships.
Emily Weaner, Sr., Gettysburg: A four-time All-Area performer, Weaner, who will join Staub at LSU next winter, capped her career by placing third in the 100 butterfly at the PIAA Class AAA Championships.
BOYS
Chris Bankert, Sr., Spring Grove: The Male Aquatics Athlete of the Year, Bankert earns his third All-Area selection after an eighth-place medal in the 100 freestyle at the District 3 Class AAA Championships. He also earned three medals at the YAIAA Championships.
Chris Beaghan, So., South Western: The YAIAA boys' diving champion, Beaghan took sixth in the District 3 Class AAA meet and then 21st at the PIAA Class AAA Championship to earn his first All-Area selection.
Seth Blystone, Jr., New Oxford: New Oxford may have gotten a new practice pool this season, but Blystone is a familiar face on the All-Area list. His second nod comes after a season in which he was third in the 50 freestyle at the Dover Invitational.
Chris Gebhart, Sr., Delone Catholic: Gebhart quietly carved out a strong career as an independent for Delone. His third All-Area nod comes after he took sixth place in the District 3 Class AA meet and 15th at the PIAA Class AA Championships in the 100 butterfly.
Max Kalinkin, Sr., Gettysburg: The Warrior senior earns his second All-Area nod after he earned two fourth-place medals in the 200 medley relay and the 100 breaststroke at the Mid-Penn Class AAA Championships.
--- Nathan Mart, fr., South Western: The future at South Western appears in good hands. Mart was a valuable relay swimmer for the Mustangs who earned fourth-place medals in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays at the YAIAA Championships.
Zack Miller, Fr., Hanover: This freshman becomes the first swimmer ever from the home of the Nighthawks to earn All-Area selection. He was a District 3 Class AA qualifier in the 100 freestyle and had a season-best 50 freestyle of 23.94 seconds.
Brandon Shaffer, Jr., South Western: The reigning 200 IM champion in the YAIAA earned his third straight All-Area selection after placing four times, including twice on relays in the YAIAA meet. He helped the Mustangs to a 9-2 dual-meet mark.
Patrick Shannon, Sr., South Western: A leader in the Mustangs' pool, Shannon capped his career by winning the 100 backstroke championship at the YAIAA meet, in which he secured four medals. The All-Area nod is the third of his career.
Colin Trettel, Jr., Spring Grove: A newcomer to the All-Area list, Trettel excelled for a Rocket team which won eight meets. He placed third in the 400 freestyle relay and was fourth in the 100 backstroke at the YAIAA meet.
