Enya Messersmith, Delone swimming:
Continuing the tradition of strong performances by independent swimmers in the Hanover area, Messersmith placed twice in the recent Bulldog Bash at Big Spring High School.
Messersmith placed second in the girls 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 22.18 seconds, and then took third in the 100 backstroke in 1:03.4.
Her efforts enabled Delone to place ahead of four other schools in the girls team standings.
Logan Bobo, Biglerville wrestling:
After eight years of the event, Biglerville finally won the championship of its own Canner Duals on Saturday, thanks in great measure to Bobo.
One of three Canners who own 8-0 records in dual meets this season, Bobo posted five falls, one in each meet, to lead Biglerville.
His pins included a first-period fall of Carlisle's Pat Towery at 160 pounds to help Biglerville to its 35-27 victory in the title match.
D.J. King, Gettysburg basketball:
Gettysburg claimed a pair of victories last week, including a triumph over host Mechanicsburg that can be credited in part to King.
King tallied a season-high 16 points, including six of his team's 21 baskets from the field, to help the Warriors (9-2) to a 58-49 triumph.
King, whose effort raised his average to seven points per game, posted six points in Gettysburg's 53-45 win over West Perry.

Biglerville captured the championship of the Living Word Christmas Tournament last week as Crowder led the way in both games.
She scored nine points as the Lady Canners edged Reading Central Catholic, 35-34, in the semifinal round.
One night later, she joined teammate Chelsea Cool with 12 points each as Biglerville beat Living Word 45-23 for the tournament crown.
Crowder leads Biglerville with 8.1 points per game this season.
